Benin Bronz was stolen during the UK imperial plunder of Benin of Southern Nigeria in modern times.
The Netherlands officially returned the 3 RACT ancient sculptures that were stolen from the previous Nigerian state of Benin six years ago.
Director General of the National Commission of Museum and Memorial in Nigeria, Oulugile Holway, said on Saturday, “There are words of the feelings and identities of the people who were taken.
At a ceremony held at the National Museum in Lagos, he said, “Whatever we ask about the world is to treat us with fairness, respect and respect.”
Holloway added that Germany had also agreed to return more than 1000 extra pieces.
Articles known as Benin Bronz are the latest returns of valuable history in Africa, as the pressure on Western governments during the imperialism increases.
There are four artifacts in the courtyard of the museum and will remain in the permanent collection of the museum, while others will be returned to Benin’s Oba, Eveure II – the traditional ruler of Benin’s state in South Nigeria.
Benin Bronon includes 16 to 18th century metals and ivory sculptures.

In 2022, Nigeria formally requested to return hundreds of items from museums around the world. That same year, about 72 items returned from a museum in London and 31 returned from the Rhod Island in the United States.
