The Chancellor Rachel Reeves is preparing to open the government’s spending review, a significant opportunity for the labor government to put political politics for the next election.
Reeves will set up decision budgets in the coming years, and expected to save defense and health from a tying of Whitehall departivates facing some growths facing real treatments.
He will also know a dispute to borrow to spend capital projects, including £ 113bn extra money in the current parliament.
It includes earmark £ 39bn for “cheap” homes over 10 years, saying the Treasury to represent “the greatest investment in a generation”.
