Thales’ missile factory in Belfast is to provide 5,000 air defense missiles in Ukraine, informed by the Prime Minister.
Agreement costs up to £ 1.6bn and engage in recruiting 200 additional staff.
Thales is a France-owned company one of European weapon’s largest weapon manufacturers.
The order for light multirole missile (LMMS) has already been used by Ukrainian forces.
A £ 162m contract announced in September last year saw 650 lmms given in Ukraine as a preliminary order of production ramping, with first delivery in December.
The new order is larger: it’s worth £ 1.16bn with the potential for an extra £ 500m job to add to the Ukrainian company.
The partner’s partner will keep the launchers and orders and controls to cars for Ukrainian missiles.

The UK’s River President said it was the largest contract Thaales received in Belfast.
The Defense Secretary John Healey said the deal “helps protect Ukraine against drone and missile attacks and helps further attacks in Russia after any end of the fight”.
