The Taliban told the BBC to strive to release both British nationalities to be arrested and held in Afghanistan “as soon as possible”.
Peter Reynolds, 79, and his wife Barbie, 75, was arrested on 1 February while returning their home in the country’s household.
An American national and an Afghana also arrested beside the couple, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affrairs.
UK Foreign Office said on Monday it supports their family.
In a statement, Taliban official Abdul Mateen Qani said: “Subsequent considerations are considered, and after evaluating, we farewell to release them as soon as possible.”
All three foreign nationals have passports to Afghanistan and National ID cards, he added.
The reason for Mr. and Mrs Reynolds arrest has not been confirmed.
Couple runs on Afghan Training projects for 18 years, including someone who participates in training mothers and children.
Their work was apparently approved by local authorities, despite the freedom forbidden education for girls at the age of 12 and not allowed women to work.
Taliban informs women forbidden to work for non-governmental organizations (NGO) in 2022. In December, it said it Close up any NGOs using women.
The pair was married in Kabul in 1970. They remained in Afghanistan after returning the Taliban of the power of August 2021, who saw most Westerners who left the country.
Their daughter, Sarah Entwisth, told BBC he have not heard from his parents for more than two weeks.
They talked to the text after pair at first arrested, but contact stopped after three days.
Ms Iswisth and his brothers write the Taliban to beg for their parents.
“We know that there are times where exchanges are useful for your government and western countries,” they wrote.
“However, our parents steadily expressing their commitment to Afghanistan, declaring that they would rather offer their lives than to be part of the negotiations or sell negotiations.”
On Monday, Ms Enthisthist said they would give the opportunity to the Taliban “to explain their reasons,” because Mr. and Mr. Reynolds had “the group often intended to respect” the group.
But he said they will never wait, say the radio times: “Now we now urge their power to take all the answers to the Taliban for their release”.
The UK closed the embassy in this Kabul and took its diplomats from the country after Taliban returned to power.
