The two-state solution map promises to solve the middle east crisis

“For the next 50 years, you will not find a leader in Israel to suggest you what I suggest you today.

“Sign it! Sign it and let’s change history!”

It’s 2008. The Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Olmert asks Palestinian leader to accept an agreement that he believes is bringing peace in the Middle East.

It’s a two-state solution – a prospect that seems impossible today.

If implemented, it will make a Palestine state over 94% of the West’s occupied bank.

The map Olmert is now obtained is close to mythology. Different interpretations showed many years, but he did not reveal it in media.

In the film, Olmert recalls the Palestinian leader response.

“He said: ‘Prime minister, it is very serious. It’s really, very serious.'”

Inexpensive, Olmert’s plan includes a suggested solution to the thorny issue in Jerusalem.

Each side can claim the town parts as their capital, while managing the “holy basin” – including religious areas, and adjacent places – to hand in a committee Terra, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and US.

“Of course, we laughed,” he said in the movie.

Palestinians believe that the water plan is dead. Olmert, who was annoyed with an unrelated scandal of corruption, announcing that he planned to resign.

“It’s sad that Olmert, no matter how beautiful he is … a lame duck,” said Husseini, “and therefore, we go anywhere.”

The state of Gaza also complicated things. But the world is more complicated than that, especially because both sides have signed the historic Oslo Accord in 1993.

The peace process inserted into a handshake at the White House in the former Israeli leader Yitzhak Grader Arrafat has occasional hope, tragedy. In the end, it resulted in failure.

The reasons are complex and have a lot of blame to go around but honestly, the stars never cope.

I have witnessed this not to align the first hand 24 years ago.

In January 2001, at Egypt resort in Fat, the negotiations of Israel and Palestinian also saw the outlines of an agreement.

A member of the Palestinian delegation dragged a modest map of a napkin and told me that, for the first time, they were watching the rough plots of a beautiful Palestinian state.

But talks are unrelated, drowning the violence of the streets of the West Bank and Gaza, where the second revolution of Palestine, or “Infaifada”, was around the past September.

Again, Israel is in the middle of a political transition. The Prime Minister Ehud Barak has resigned. Ariel Sharon comfortable defeated him a few weeks ago.
