The facility treats Papa Francis

Outside Gemellios Hospital in Rome stood a large statue of one of the most famous patients, Papa Juan Paul II.

Papa Francis has treated many times the Gemelli several times. In 2013, he had his colon operation. He was treated for contagious bronchitis on March 2023, and has surgery for a hernia intestine in a later year.

He often found grateful to his medical team and other hospital workers. By the end of a living, he baptized a newborn child, and shared a pizza dinner with his doctors, nurses, the Vatican security assurturts.
