The seven churches are targeted by suspected arson spree


Seven churches are targeted at a suspected arson attack that occurred at New Zealand’s night.

Four Churches in Masterton town, north of Wellington capital, maintained “moderate to important” damage to three more buildings.

The crew from across the Wairarapa region responds to the fires at about 04:30 Local time on Saturday (15:30 GMT on Friday).

“Films are treated as a doubt and mentioned the police,” said a fire and emergency spokesman. No arrest was made.

The Anglican Church of the Epiphany, St. Patrick Catholic Church church Markerton, Chartist Church and Comports Church Masterton all burned, the authorities said.

A video circulating social media shows a man who claims responsibility for attacks, expresses anti-monarchist feelings and anti-monarchists.

Police and fire and emergency New Zealand approached for more comment.

New Zealand’s religious buildings suffered a spate of Arson attacks in recent years.

Last year, a property of Auckland church was subject to two Arson attacks on the same night. A mosque burned at the same place in November.

In 2019, 51 people were killed in two mass shootings of Christchurch mosques. Man responsible Branton Tarrant said he also planned Burn the mosqueswant to “impose a lot of deaths as much as possible”.
