Team USA figure skater Amber Glenn gave an update on how he is doing after a disappointing performance in the 2026 Winter Olympics women’s figure skating short program.
Glenn, 26, took to TikTok on Wednesday, February 18, to share how he’s “coping” after coming 13th in the event a day earlier.
“Getting my highest score 3Axel,” she captioned a clip of herself smiling and dancing over a laughing audio. The sound then spun around and said, “I’m a badass,” to which the skater kicked the air and threw her hands up.
“Failing the last jump and invalidating it,” he wrote in the video. “I’m coping well, thanks for asking 🤪 #olympics #TeamUSA,” Glenn captioned the post.
Despite the underwhelming performance on Tuesday, Glenn’s fans showed her support in the comments section.
“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” one wrote, to which Glenn replied, “I’ve done both.”

Glenn, who was a gold medal contender in Italy, ended up scoring 67.39 for her performance. She started her program strong with a triple axel, but then went down with a triple loop, which lowered her score.

from Japan Ami Nakai i Kaori Sakamoto they are in 1st and 2nd place after the short program, respectively, with Team USA Alyssa Liu currently in 3rd place..
The skaters return to the ice for the free skate on Thursday, February 19, although Glenn’s poor performance on Tuesday makes her a good shot at a medal.
Glenn walked off the court in tears after Tuesday’s short program. He hugged his coach and said, “I got it.” Glenn later opened up to NBC about his performance, saying he “lost focus” and that he “didn’t feel right.”
He described the moment as “disbelief”.
“I did the hard stuff, so I was in shock,” he added. “I wanted to enjoy today and unfortunately I didn’t, hopefully I can try to find some happiness in free skating.”
Ilya Malinin he also did not perform as well as he had hoped at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The 21-year-old Malinin was tipped to take home an individual gold medal in the men’s individual event, but finished in 8th place after he fell twice during his free skate on Friday February 13.
following his performancehe told NBC that he “blew it.”
“That’s honestly the first thing that came to mind: There is no way it just happened” he said. “I was preparing all season. I felt very confident with my program. To go out and have that happen…there are no words, honestly.”
While the two didn’t take home any medals for their individual performances, they both took home gold for the team event, along with 20-year-old Liu.
Malinin added: “Of course, it didn’t go the way I wanted. All I have to do is learn from my mistakes there and push to see how I can improve in the future. I can take a different approach before the next Games, hopefully.”
