Multiple people dead after shooting at Florida gated community home


UPDATE: 12/2/2026 at 11:50 a.m.: The victims of the shooting at a gated community in Sarasota, Florida have been identified.

Olga Greinert49, Florita chairs66, Anatoly Ioffe61 i Yaroslav Blyudoy39, were all killed in the shooting at a Sarasota home on Tuesday, Feb. 10, according to the Herald-Tribune.

Meanwhile, the suspect has been identified as a resident of Fort Lauderdale Russell Kot51.

Kot is also suspected of killing Larisa Bludaya46 i Ben Azivov18, during an incident that took place in Fort Lauderdale on the same day as the Sarasota shooting.

Several people were found dead after a shooting inside a gated community in Sarasota, Florida, police officials confirmed.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Fallcrest Circle around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, he reported. KPTV. Upon arrival, authorities found a neighbor performing CPR on a male victim in the front yard.

Neighbors told responding officers that the man’s wife was potentially inside the home, he said Gulf Coast News Now. The victim was taken to another location and pronounced dead a short time later.

Once the police officers entered the home, they found two women and two men dead inside the residence. In addition, a weapon was found in the house.

“It is currently a shooting investigation. We have multiple people involved,” a sheriff’s office spokesman said, according to KPTV. “And it seems that all these people are accounted for.”

As deputies tried to identify the victims and a potential suspect, they learned from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department that they were working a double homicide. According to Gulf Coast News Now, the FLPD believed the Sarasota shooting was related to their investigation.

The FLPD said the suspect’s vehicle linked to the Sarasota shooting was caught on camera in connection with the homicide it was investigating. A Ring camera caught the suspect’s vehicle entering the neighborhood around 11:01 a.m. on the day of the Sarasota shooting, the company said. Detectives said the same vehicle was previously seen traveling northbound on Punta Gorda before the homicide occurred in Sarasota.

About 37 minutes after the car entered the neighborhood, the male victim found on the front lawn was seen entering the neighborhood in his own car. The man was then seen approaching the front door and was shot.

The sheriff’s office said they have identified all the victims, while they said the suspect was among the people who died inside the home. In addition, the suspect’s vehicle was found parked in the neighborhood.

Police have not yet publicly released the names of the victims as detectives are still notifying next of kin.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect was previously romantically involved with one of the victims in Fort Lauderdale. According to deputies, the former couple was connected to the victims in Sarasota. However, it is currently unknown what the suspect’s motive was for targeting the victims in Sarasota.

The killings have left the community in a fragile state. A resident who heard the gunshots told KPTV they were “kind of in shock” about the situation.

“It’s happening here in my neighborhood. And Amberlea is a safe community,” the neighbor said. “I mean, it’s closed. And just people dying … it’s horrible.”
