Sarah Shahi has offered rare details about their shocking split Sex/Life to cost Adam Demos – including what led to their breakup.
The former couple originally met on the set of Sex/Life in August 2020. Shahi then separated from her husband Steve Howeywith whom she was married for 11 years. Shahi and Howey, who share three children, eventually divorced in 2021.
Shahi later established a connection with Demos, and then they stayed together Sex/LifeThe abrupt end of Netflix in 2023.
While reflecting on their romance, Shahi expressed his interest in sharing the screen with Demos again. “Nothing has felt right so far, but what’s great is that we met as actors. So we have a really great working relationship with each other,” he said. The Hollywood Reporter in February 2025, noting that she and Demos have “great chemistry”.
Shahi added this it was “impossible” for them to “lie” to each other while filming scenes, explaining, “There’s no tolerance for any kind of bulls***. So I think we work well with each other, and I’d love to find something that he and I could do together.”

In her Us Weekly cover story, Sarah Shahi addressed her split from Adam Demos for the first time. “There was an element of the relationship that people really felt they belonged to, which was very sweet and comforting,” she shared in January 2026.
Shahi noted at the time that there were challenges dating in the public eye.
“The twist to it is when things end, you feel like you’re going through it twice,” he said we. “You’re going through it emotionally on a personal level, and then you’re going through it again on a much bigger level.”
