Episodes of Addicted to rehabilitation they have been dragged HGTV the same day they were released after a star video Nicole Curtis saying the “n word” resurfaced.
In the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, Radar Online released to never seen video of Curtis, 49, working on a renovation project when he accidentally says the racial slur while the cameras are rolling.
“Why? It’s the last one,” Curtis said in the clip as he wrestled with part of the project. “Oh, fart n***r.”
The HGTV star immediately realized her unforced error, turned to the camera crew and begged them to delete the footage.
“What the hell did I just say?” Curtis asked, visibly shocked by his language. Someone from the crew can be heard laughing off camera as Curtis asked, “Can you kill that?”
Curtis seems taken aback by his own comments, adding: “F*** my life.”
A source said Radar On Wednesday, Curtis filmed the episode two years ago in Wyoming and it aired, sans racial slurs, during Season 9 in June 2025.

Courtesy of Nicole Curtis/InstagramWhile Curtis has yet to publicly address the scandal, HGTV has taken steps to remedy the situation, saying Us Weekly Wednesday that the network is pulling the current season of Addicted to rehabilitationwhich was scheduled to post new episodes today at noon.
“HGTV was recently made aware of a racially offensive comment made during the filming of Addicted to rehabilitation. Language like this is not only hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners and employees, it does not align with HGTV’s values,” the network said in a statement. “Accordingly, we have removed the series from all HGTV platforms. We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion in our content and workplace.”
Curtis has stayed Addicted to rehabilitation since 2010, restoring historic homes in both Detroit and Minneapolis from being demolished. Over the years, he has also expanded the locations where he does renovations.
In July 2025, Curtis announced was pressing pause on the HGTV series — and wouldn’t release the second half of Season 9 until that fall. He later revealed that new episodes would drop in February.

A day later, the expert in historic conservation teased the new episodes a bit more by sharing a cheeky video of herself walking back and forth on a moving sidewalk.

In the hours before Addicted to rehabilitationOn Wednesday’s return, Curtis shared a final preview with his fans.
“Addicted to rehabilitation. I will go to my last breath proud of having done this more real, more raw than anyone else. There have never been 100 people, let alone 25 people, even 10 people tagged production when I’m working,” he wrote. via Instagram. “It’s me, it’s my builders, on big days (meaning there’s a huge build like a roof) it’s two cameras, but mostly it’s one.”
Curtis joked: “It’s never been about how I see (I’ll fix that in the post😊😂), it’s always been about the house.”
