A Florida woman has been arrested after she repeatedly stabbed the father of her children after she found out he was cheating on her with her sister.
Jacqueline Rodriguez was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 8, and is charged with aggravated assault with great bodily harm, according to online records reviewed by Us Weekly.
She was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred around midnight on April 28, 2025, at a Miami apartment, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit seen by Law and crime.
Authorities responded to the apartment complex after several neighbors called 911 to report hearing gunshots coming from a first-floor unit. Upon their arrival, officers found blood on the front door of the apartment.

After officers knocked on the door and got no answer, they forced their way into the residence and found blood on the floor near the entrance. Authorities quickly found the victim, who was suffering from several scrapes and cuts. The victim added that he didn’t answer the door because he allegedly didn’t hear the police call.
After asking what happened, the victim told police that Rodriguez, 41, “used a knife on him during their physical altercation” and that he was “attacked and that was not necessary,” according to the affidavit.
He also explained that Rodriguez was his “baby mama” and claimed that he was upset when he found out that she had sex with his sister. Rodriguez and the victim got into a fight before he allegedly pulled out a knife and began stabbing him, according to the affidavit.
“Based on (the victim’s) testimony, it is believed that Ms. Rodriguez attempted to cause great bodily harm and permanent disfigurement,” authorities wrote in the legal filing.
After speaking with police, the victim refused to testify under oath. However, he did allow police officers to take pictures of his injuries.
Rodriguez was arrested almost a year after the crime took place on February 8 around 1:00 am. It is currently unclear why it took so long to make the arrest.
In addition to the aggravated battery with great bodily harm charge, Rodriguez also faces charges of burglary and grand theft. Those charges stem from an incident in which she and a man allegedly stole $14,000 worth of items from a vehicle after a car crash, which took place just three months before the stabbing.
It is currently unclear if Rodriguez has entered a plea to any of his charges or if he has retained an attorney following his arrest.
The Miami Police Department did not immediately respond we‘ comment request.
If convicted of aggravated assault with great bodily harm, Rodriguez could face up to 15 years in prison, 15 years of probation and be ordered to pay $10,000 in fines.
Meanwhile, a conviction for theft in Florida is determined based on the severity and circumstances of the case. As for the grand theft charge, those found guilty of the crime in Florida can be sentenced to serve between five and 30 years in prison.
