Bad Bunny he invited some friends to join him on stage during 2026 Super Bowl performance of the halftime show, however Lady Gaga made the biggest splash.
Gaga, 39, sang a new version of “Die With a Smile” (her collaboration with Bruno Mars) as he took the stage at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 8, as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots squared off in the big game. After her surprise performance, Gaga broke into a fast-paced dance routine with Bad Bunny, 31.
Gaga’s appearance comes after she and Bad Bunny had a sweet moment at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1.
“She said, ‘I love you!’ And that’s it,” said Bad Bunny Access Hollywood about crossing paths with Gaga at the awards show. “And I said, ‘I love you too!’
But that wasn’t the only trick he had up his sleeve. Puerto Rico native included Peter Pascal, Karol G, Alix Earle, cardi b, Jessica Alba i Ricky Martin also in his performance.

“What I’m feeling is beyond myself,” he said in a statement at the time. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history. Go tell your grandma, we’ll be the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW.”
Before taking the reins himself, Bad Bunny made a surprise appearance during Jennifer Lopez i Shakira’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2020. He and Shakira, 49, then performed their hit “I Like It” before singing a mash-up of his song “Chantaje” and her song “Callaítia.”
Seemingly ever since the NFL announced that Bad Bunny would headline the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, the biggest news has come about the league’s selection. Lopez, 56, and Shakira both they showed their support for Bad Bunny after he was announced as the headliner for the 2026 halftime show.
“I think it’s about to blow everybody’s mind,” Lopez said today show in October 2025. “It’s an introduction to some people.”
Lopez went on to say that he didn’t “understand” the reaction to Bad Bunny’s participation in the halftime show, noting, “He’s one of the best artists in the world right now, probably the best.”
“It could be a lot of different people. That’s what happens,” he explained. “I’m really excited for people to see it. I think they’re going to be pleasantly surprised because his music transcends language. It’s amazing what he’s done. He’s done something that a lot of people have never done in their lives.”
Lopez also reflected on his own Super Bowl performance with Bad Bunny and Shakira.
“Me, Shakira, Bad Bunny, J Balvin — and we had an amazing time,” he recalled. “It was a really cultural moment.”
Over the years, viewers have witnessed Super Bowl moments during the halftime show that have been memorable for a variety of reasons. Later that month, Shakira shared her enthusiasm about Bad Bunny hosting the halftime show.
“About time!” she said variety. “I remember when we did ours that even having part of our set in Spanish was a bold move…The acceptance of music in Spanish as part of the mainstream has come a long way from when I started. I hope and like to think that all the times my music was met with resistance or bewilderment from the English-speaking world before it was embraced helped pave the way to where we are now.”
As for Bad Bunny’s performance, Shakira felt the timing was right to bring her talent to the Super Bowl.
“I’m very proud that Bad Bunny, who represents not only Latin culture, but also how important Spanish music has become on a global scale and how universal it has become, gets to perform on the biggest stage in the world,” she continued. “It’s the perfect time for a performance like this. I can’t wait to see it.”
