The Secret Lives of Mormon Women star Layla Taylor confirmed in a crying tiktok video that she is “no longer” with her boyfriend Mason McWhorter.
“I never really come on my page and cry, so this is already really hard for me,” Layla, 24, admitted to her TikTok followers on Saturday, February 7. “I’m on reality TV…and I feel safe being open, but for some reason, my page has always had a hard time being vulnerable.”
The reality star felt it was important to “set the record straight” because she was “already seeing some comments that are not true” about the breakup. After confirming the split was “still super fresh”, Layla insisted there was “no bad blood” between the former couple.
“I truly wish and want the best for Mason. Things just weren’t working out,” she explained. “I think we were on two different paths now. He felt that in order to grow up, he had to be alone. And I respect his decision, and I really hope that he gets what he wants in life.”
Layla said her split from Mason was particularly hard because she grew closer to their two sons, Ollie and Maxwell, after the pair started dating last summer. (Layla shares her children with her ex-husband Clayton Wessel.)
“Mason was a very important part of my life and my children’s life for almost a year,” she acknowledged. “And we’ve been through a lot in this last year, to be honest. But I’m grateful for everything, and I’m grateful that he’s been a part of my life for as long as he has.”
As she cried again, Layla confessed, “I really thought I was going to get the family I wanted so much.”
Layla thanked her fans for being “protective” of her, although she also encouraged everyone to be “nice and kind” to Mason.
“I still love him very much and I only want the best for him,” she concluded.
In November, Layla open exclusively to Us Weekly about where things stood with Mason, as she was admittedly “so tired of (her) ex-husband and this marriage.”

“Right now, I’m a little afraid of marriage, but I just want to get to know someone really well before I think about it,” she said. we. “I’m happy and satisfied where me and Mason are at. And if somehow that comes out, we’ll see.”
many The Secret Lives of Mormon Lives viewers instantly recognized Mason when he went public with the Hulu star last year, as he’s the brother of Layla’s ex. Chase McWhorter.
“We laugh about it. I know it’s not the most ideal situation, hanging out with brothers, but sometimes life gives you lemons,” Layla said. we in november “You just have to make lemonade and it is what it is. Sometimes it makes for funny and awkward situations. But we just keep it light because it can’t be helped.”
Layla then confirmed that she and Mason were “still together” and that “things (were) going great” in their relationship.
“I’m very happy,” he said at the time. “He’s my best friend. I feel like me and him get along really well. We have a lot of similarities and our relationship is very natural and not forced. I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not with him.”
Meanwhile, we learned in december that some key details of Layla’s divorce had been finalized. A Utah judge ruled that Layla and her ex-husband Clayton would share joint physical and legal custody of their two children, while neither party received child support.
