The New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is getting ready to play the first Super Bowland at just 23 years old, there are reasons to compare him Tom Bradywithout a doubt the best that has ever played his position.
“What (Maye) has done during this postseason competition with the start of his Tom Brady career,” the veteran NFL reporter said. Kay Adams explained exclusively Us Weeklyas part of it partnership with Levy Restaurants. “I like that he’s doing it all. ‘He doesn’t have the passing numbers, he doesn’t have the . . .’, he’s started his career brilliantly in a rebuilding year where they’re not supposed to be there.”
There are certainly similarities. In 2001, Brady’s breakout season, the Patriots were also the underdogs, led by a young and, until then, unknown quarterback. They lost three of their first four games as an established starter Drew Bledsoe suffered a season-ending injury in the second game, giving the 48-year-old Brady a chance.
That year, the St. Louis Rams entered the Super Bowl as 14-point favorites, however Adam VinatieriNew England’s field goal won it as time expired. This year, the Seattle Seahawks are 4.5-point favorites, and Adams, 39, expects a battle.
“Don’t be surprised if they give the Seahawks team all they can handle,” he said.
Win or lose, Adams believes Maye is establishing himself as one of the faces of the NFL moving forward.
“Yes, (it has) staying power, there’s no doubt about it,” he said Up and Adams said the host. “One of the young faces of our league heading into 2026, no matter what happens on Sunday.”
She added: “Drake is also a beautiful story this year. I’ve met him several times. He’s a marked guy, but he can laugh. He’s generous with his time. I can tell you. Let his woman has the focusWho wouldn’t like that?”

Although Maye enters the Super Bowl amid a meteoric rise in popularity, some Patriots fans are nervous that a lingering shoulder injury could hinder his play. Maye tried to reassure fans during a press conference on Tuesday, February 3, when he said he is “feeling good.”
“We’re going to rest a little bit more, and really the only thing that comes from the game, I think just the accumulation of pitches, that’s what, pretty much, including training camp, 30 straight weeks of pitching and four days a week,” he said. “It can add up. But I’ve got a little extra rest. I feel good and yeah, ready to go to the Super Bowl.”
As for Adams, he expects a “very, very close game,” and while he didn’t predict a winner, he expects a touchdown from the Seahawks wide receiver. Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
