Savannah Guthriebrother of Cameron Guthriehe has spoken in the middle of the mother Nancy Guthriethe continued disappearance.
“This is Camron Guthrie and I’m speaking on behalf of the Guthrie family,” Camron said in a video shared via Savannah’s. Instagram page of Thursday, February 5. “Whoever has our mother, we want to hear from you. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need to communicate and we need a way to communicate with you so that we can move forward. But first, we need to know if you have our mother. We want to talk to you and we are waiting for contact.”
Nancy, 84, had disappeared in early Februarywith local Arizona agents revealing she was last seen on January 31st.
“On behalf of our family we want to thank you all for your prayers for our dear mother, Nancy,” Savannah, 54, said in a video with her siblings, Annie and Camron. shared via Instagram on February 4. “We feel them and we continue to believe that she feels them too. Our mother is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving, kind and light woman. She is funny, waltzing and intelligent.”
The today The show host continued: “She has grandchildren who adore her and flock around her and shower her with kisses. She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge.”
Savannah and her siblings later accepted the $50,000 ransom reward in exchange for Nancy’s safe return.
“As a family, we’re doing everything we can. We’re ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,” Savannah said. “We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are willing to listen. Please contact us.”
Savannah concluded the emotional video with a message to her mother.
“Mom, if you’re listening to this, you’re a strong woman. You’re God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He’s with you,” Savannah said. “Everybody’s looking for you, Mom, everywhere. We won’t rest. Your children won’t rest until we’re together again. We talk to you every moment. And we pray without ceasing, and rejoice in anticipation of the day we’ll have you in our arms again. We love you, Mom.”
There are no current suspects in Nancy’s disappearance, although local police believe so she could have been kidnapped.
“Something unusual happened in that house that made us say, ‘Wow, there’s something wrong here.’ “Something doesn’t add up,” Pima County Sheriff. Chris Nanos explained exclusively Us Weekly on February 2. “We’re going to pull out all the stops and go from every angle. We really hope it’s a search and rescue mission and we find her and she’s safe and sound. But it would be unfair if we didn’t look at what’s in front of us and say, ‘We have to act.'”
Nanos added: “This is an 84-year-old lady who’s safe in her home asleep and she’s taken. And that should never happen.”
Earlier Thursday, the FBI made an arrest for an “impostor ransom demand.”
“We have made an arrest related to an impostor ransom demand, and a complaint will be presented to a magistrate judge today,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Phoenix. Heath Janke he said during a press conference. “You will have more information on this from the FBI and our US Attorney’s office here in Arizona as it becomes available.”
Janke also revealed details about the alleged ransom note, including a deadline, at the press conference.
“First, I think it was 5 p.m. today, and then I had a second deadline,” he said. “So we’re still in a normal kidnapping case, now there would be contact to try to discuss it. But those are the time frames we’re looking at as we go forward.”
In light of Nancy’s disappearance, Savannah has took a break from today and his planned duties covering the 2026 Winter Olympics for NBC.
“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support,” Savannah said in a Feb. 2 statement shared via today “At this time, our focus remains on the safe return of our beloved mother. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.”
Nancy shared Savannah, Annie and Camron with her late husband, Charles Guthriewho died in 1988 after a heart attack. He was 49 years old.
