“We’re starting things off a little differently this morning because, like you, we all woke up this morning with very heavy hearts (and) praying for our friend and colleague, Savannah Guthrie,” King, 71, said at the start of his Thursday, Feb. 5, address. issued to CBS Mornings.
“His mother, Nancy, is still missing at this time and last night the Guthrie family went public with a very emotional message,” King continued, referring to the video shared by Savannah, 54, his sister. annieand his brother, Cameronto his mother, Nancy, and his would-be kidnapper on Wednesday, February 4.
The Guthrie brothers called for proof of life and said they were “ready to talk” after hearing reports of a “rescue letter to the media.” They added: “As a family, we are doing everything we can.”
King looked emotional while on air for Thursday morning’s broadcast. “We’re all looking forward to Nancy coming home,” he said. “It’s an unimaginable situation for the Guthrie family.”
“Savannah just got to me where she calls me ‘mommy,'” King continued. “To hear a grown woman say, ‘Mom, we’re all looking for you.’ Everyone’s looking for her.”

Many public figures have rallied in support of the Guthrie family, as hundreds gathered for a candlelight vigil to pray for Nancy’s safe return Wednesday night.
Nancy was last seen on Saturday, Jan. 31 at her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was reported missing the next day after a friend noticed she didn’t show up for Sunday morning church service.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared exclusively with Us Weekly As of Monday, Feb. 2, authorities are still hopeful that it’s a “search and rescue mission” and that Nancy is “safe and sound.”
“This is an 84-year-old lady who is safe in her home asleep and she is taken”, Nanos shared we. “And that should never happen.”
The Pima County Sheriff labeled Nancy’s home a “crime scene” and said authorities are following all possible leads and potential reasons.
While speaking exclusively with weNanos shared that Annie was the last person to see Nancy. It was noted that Annie said that Nancy did not raise any “red flags” with her behavior before her disappearance. “We have a starting point,” Nanos said. “The family brought her home from dinner between 9:30 and 9:45 (approximately). So we could say as early as 9 or 8:30 to start looking.”
Meanwhile, the FBI is working to authenticate a possible ransom note sent to various outlets while analyzing cell phone data and information from nearby cell towers, as well as expediting warrants to search Nancy’s digital accounts.
“Something unusual happened in that house that made us say, ‘Wow, something’s wrong here.’ Something doesn’t add up,” Nanos said. we. “We’re going to pull out all the stops and go at it from every angle.”
