british nurse Lucy Letbyparents, Susan Letby i John Letbyslammed Netflix’s upcoming true-crime documentary Lucy Letby’s researchclaiming the project is an “invasion of privacy” after his daughter was arrested.
After a trailer for the project was released, Susan and John said they were not informed that unseen footage, including scenes inside their longtime home, would be in the documentary.
“The previous programs made about Lucy, including Panorama and the almost nightly news showing her being taken away in handcuffs in a blue tracksuit, are heartbreaking,” the couple said. the guardian in a statement on Sunday, February 1. “However, this Netflix documentary is on another level.”
The couple added that they “will not watch” Lucy Letby’s research. “It would probably kill us if we did,” they said.

Susan and John said so too the guardian that they “had no idea they were using footage in our house” in the documentary and found the use of the clips “distressing”.
In the trailerofficers were seen arriving at Susan and John’s home in Hereford while Lucy was staying with them in June 2019. Authorities were then shown entering her bedroom and she sat up in bed. Lucy looked confused when an officer told her she was being arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, and was ushered out of the room in her pyjamas.
“Heaven knows how much more they have to show. It’s all happening in the house we’ve lived in for 40 years,” Susan and John told the network, adding that they live “on a small cul-de-sac in a small town where everybody knows everybody.”
“It’s a total invasion of privacy, which we wouldn’t have known about if Lucy’s lawyer hadn’t told us,” Susan and John said.
Parents also asked, “Why? Paul Hughes (an investigating officer in the Letby case), with whom we always fully cooperated, allowed the world to see what happened in our house that morning and Netflix didn’t even have the decency to tell us?
Netflix and ITN Productions did not immediately respond Us Weeklyrequest for comments on Susan and John’s statement.
Lucy was arrested in 2020 after being accused of murdering seven babies by giving the babies too much milk, air, insulin or fluids while working as a nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital in north-west England from June 2015 to June 2016. She was also accused of attempting to kill 10 more.

She pleaded not guilty to all charges. However, she was eventually convicted of murder and attempted murder in August 2023. Lucy eventually received 15 life sentences.
After his conviction, his legal team began appealing the decision in September 2023 due to the media attention surrounding the case. However, the Court of Appeal threw out the bid in October 2024. Lucy is currently incarcerated at HMP Low Newton in Durham, England.
