To start a new month, the action thriller of 2021 Copshop has found a new breeding home netflix.
Like many of Netflix’s other action hits, Copshop misplayed when it was in theaters.
However, this movie also got great reviews and has more star power than a standard Netflix original movie. Perhaps that explains why it hit #2 on the streamer’s most popular movie charts this week.
now, Watch with us is sharing the three reasons why you should watch Copshop on Netflix in February.
It features the collision of two action icons
separately, Gerard Butler i Frank Grillo they have headlined many action films. Most of Grillo’s films have certainly been direct-to-video or direct-to-streaming, but he’s left an undeniable impact on the genre. Butler has had an even bigger profile, including his roles 300, airplane, Greenland and more One of the best things Copshop The point is that it puts Butler and Grillo’s characters at odds from the start. Grillo plays Teddy Murretto, a con artist who is so desperate to get away from the mafia hit that he is immediately arrested in Las Vegas.
Butler plays Robert K. Viddick, a killer on Teddy’s trail. And if Teddy is going to hide in prison, then Robert will follow suit. The film wisely minimizes the physical interactions between these two by keeping bars between them. And that leaves them with a bit of verbal combat before the actual violence begins. It’s a thrill to see them together, because there will only be one winner in the end.
Alexis Louder earns her action stripes
Although much of the film focuses on the characters of Butler and Grillo, Alexis Louder he is the unsung hero Copshop. Her character, Valerie Young, is a cop and the only unequivocally good person among the main cast. Valerie’s morality doesn’t make her boring – it makes her a reluctant action star, as she’s forced to do whatever it takes to keep Teddy and the other prisoners alive.
More impressively, Louder imbues Valerie with plenty of personality and action credibility. As the situation rapidly deteriorates around her, Valerie seems to know what she’s doing even as she’s forced to make quick decisions about who she can trust. Louder may not be the name at the top of the credits, but Valerie becomes the surrogate for the audience and the one to root for.
The conclusion is wild
Toby Huss co-stars in the film as Anthony Lamb, a rival assassin of Robert’s, who is completely deranged. When Lamb enters the picture, Copshop he increases his level of violence and gives both Robert and Teddy a reason to want him dead. Neither Robert nor Teddy can be called heroic figures, but they are much easier to like than Lamb.
It’s also refreshing how this movie embraces its moral ambiguity. Robert and Teddy are not good men, and the final confrontation between them is not meant to be a cathartic moment. However, it does end the story on a wild and unpredictable note, even if there will never be a sequel that reveals what happens next.
