A report published by the Utah Local Network KPCW On Thursday, January 29, it said health inspectors found two violations following a routine milk test conducted in late May and early June 2025.

KPCW cited records from the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF), which reportedly indicated that screening showed elevated levels of coliforms in bottled raw milk. (Coliforms are the family of bacteria that includes E. coli.)

The director of the state’s dairy program told the outlet that Ballerina Farm made the decision to stop raw milk sales. A spokesperson for Ballerina Farm shared that raw milk was only sold at the company’s Kamas farm stand and that the brand only sells pasteurized milk at the moment.

“Raw milk production requires careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint,” a spokesperson for Ballerina Farm said in a statement to KPCW. “Unfortunately, we learned that after the fact.”

The outlet reported that Ballerina Farm noted that its current dairy is better suited to pasteurized products and has plans to create a second dairy in the future for raw milk products.

An information page on the UDAG website notes that ingesting unpasteurized dairy products can pose “serious health risks.” E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria can be found in raw milk.
