A Florida man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend and sending her a threatening letter with a 9mm bullet in the envelope.
On Wednesday, January 28, authorities responded to a report of a woman claiming her ex-boyfriend, Jakir Hasanhad been “harassing her through texts, handwritten letters and other social media posts” while stalking her for about six months, according to the probable cause affidavit obtained by Law and crime. According to the woman, who was not publicly identified, she and Hasan, 23, who lived in the West Palm Beach area, separated eight to nine months ago. Before their split, they were in a relationship for about two years, but did not live together or have children together.
Since the alleged harassment and stalking began, the woman said she received a large number of text messages and social media messages from Hasan. Despite being blocked several times, the 23-year-old allegedly made other accounts and obtained new phone numbers in his many attempts to contact his ex. At one point, she also claims that Hasan “threatened to shoot her new boyfriend.”

One of the most disturbing incidents allegedly occurred on January 11, when her brother discovered a letter in her driveway in the middle of the night. He told police he knew it was “definitely” his ex’s, based on the information it contained.
“The envelope contained two long letters and one short letter with a live 9mm round inside,” the probable cause statement said. “The letter detailed how he screwed up with her and asked her to get back with her because he loves her so much.”
A few weeks later, the woman said she was “alerted by Apple” that an Airtag tracker had been placed on her vehicle.
“Through his phone, he set the tracker to make a noise, which revealed the tracker’s exact location,” the police statement said.
Hasan allegedly sent flowers to her home that same day.
The woman then told authorities that her ex had a gun and had “made some suicidal comments” in one of his recent letters to her.
On Wednesday, Hasan was taken into custody by Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies and later questioned. He allegedly confessed to sending the bullet along with the letters and also placing the tracker in his car. He was charged with one count of aggravated stalking and one count of installing and using a tracking device without consent.
Before his arrest, a family member of Hasan told the court that the 23-year-old had been an EMT and reportedly had no criminal record, it has been reported. NBC6.
Hasan has been released on $10,000 bail and must wear a GPS tracker until his next court appearance. The judge ordered him to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend.
