The title of this month’s update is a misnomer, because there aren’t three new ones netflix shows with at least a 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes in January.
Instead, there’s only one show that broke that mark this month.

“Southland” (2009-2013)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 90 percent
If you’ve been looking for a police procedural drama to watch, Netflix has a great one. Southland has a bit of the rawness of the shieldminus the rampant corruption and killings among policemen. This series focuses primarily on Officer Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie) as he navigates the mean streets of Los Angeles while juggling his personal problems. Ben’s training officer, John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz), also focuses heavily on him as a man who has buried his secrets for fear that they might affect his relationship with other cops.
This show takes a character-centered approach to storytelling and features a fantastic supporting cast that includes Regina King, Shawn Hatosy, Kevin Alejandro, Michael McGrady i Tom Everett Scott. Southland has been off the air for over a decade, but we’ll be surprised if it doesn’t find a new generation of viewers. This is the kind of series that is perfect for viewers.

“Land of Sin” (2026)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 86 percent
There are a couple of “Nordic noir” series that have taken off on Netflix, including the recently released one land of sinwhich has reached the top 10 shows. Krista Kosonen He leads the cast as Dani Anttila, a detective from Malmö, Sweden. Dani has her hands full trying to get her teenage son, Oliver (César Matijasevic), to enter drug rehab while dealing with his new partner, Malik (Mohammed Noor Oklah).
TNT used to market itself as the home of drama, but that’s a tagline that describes Netflix more convincingly now. Dani’s personal and professional worlds collide when her former adopted son, Silas Duncke (Alexander Persson), is murdered. It’s already an ethical quandary to let Dani near this case, but the search for the murder suspect hits very close to home. Malik isn’t making things easy for Dani with his approach to the book, as he’s not above breaking some rules to get answers.

‘Bridgerton’ (2020–present)

Netflix’s hit period romance series Bridgerton returns for a new season later this month. Penelope Bridgerton (Nicola Coughlan) may have been introduced as Lady Whistledown in Season 3, but that doesn’t mean her alter ego (voiced by the legendary Julie Andrews) will not be again at the request of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rocheuvel). There’s a new social season ahead and plenty of gossip to spread.
This season will focus on the romance between Penelope’s brother-in-law, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), and a fresh new face, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Their attraction is evident from the start, but there are always romantic complications Bridgerton. This season is split into two parts, with the remaining episodes arriving at the end of February.
