
A Jewish family is suing France over its embassy in Baghdad. He is seeking compensation for what he says is France’s use of the property and inadequate rent payments. The house was seized along with other properties belonging to Jewish Iraqis in the 1950s. France argues that this is a problem of Iraqi law and should be resolved in an Iraqi court. But the family cannot go to Iraq because it is illegal for Jews to go there. FRANCE 24’s Shirley Sitbon tells us more.
