A Cape Town high school has decided to get rid of phones after noticing a spike in attention deficit disorder among students over the past five years. Expecting a backlash, there was none. This comes as more countries are concerned about the impact of phone and social media use on children and teenagers’ ability to learn and concentrate. So far, 400 South African schools have adopted this measure.
