Elon Musk is eyeing June for SpaceX’s blockbuster IPO, according to reports Financial Times. The billionaire reportedly wanted the offer to coincide with his birthday (June 28) and that was rare. alignment Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter (which happens in early June).
Regardless of when it happens, SpaceX’s IPO will be one of the biggest in history: It wants to raise at least $50 billion at a valuation of $1.5 trillion, per the FT (which also notes that figure is likely to change).
The company wants more funding because it is building the Starship rocket, with the goal of reaching Mars. SpaceX is one of the most valuable private companies in the country, and it is finally being held secondary sale in December that would give it a value of $800 billion.
