Tyson Fury has begun his comeback fight as the former heavyweight champion returns to boxing.
Fury will box heavyweight contender Aslanbek Mahmudov on April 11.
A former two-time world heavyweight champion, Fury announced his retirement from boxing in early 2025.
But he has signaled that he wants to come back and has started training for a comeback fight.
He will box Mahmudov in the UK in April, the venue to be announced at a later date.
“I’m excited to be back. Hearts always have been and always will be in boxing. Somebody tell the king the ace is back!” Fourie stated.
Makhmudov, a Canadian-based Russian, is a strong heavyweight contender who has only lost to quality opposition: Agit Kabayel, now the interim WBC titleholder, and Olympian Guido Vianello.
Mahmudov dominated popular Briton Dave Allen in Sheffield in his last fight to move him for this competition.
Makhmudov said: “I’m thrilled for the opportunity. I’m coming to wage war. Tyson Fury was a great champion. I’ll be more ready than ever to walk away with a huge V.”
More to come…
