The NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford He wasted no time getting back into dad mode after the Los Angeles Rams lost the NFC Championship Game.
“My daughter was crying after the game in my arms and she was like, ‘Dad, I feel so bad for you,'” Stafford, 37, recalled on the Monday, Jan. 26, episode of SiriusXM.”let’s go” podcast. “I told him, ‘You know what? Don’t feel bad for me. My life is a blessing. I can play this game. I got to play it for 17 years. I have four little girls who are cheering me on, a beautiful woman who is doing the same.”
Mateu, with whom he is married Kelly Stafford – came home on Monday, Jan. 26, after his Rams team lost 27-31 to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL playoffs the night before.
Kelly, 36, shared a glance in her husband’s role away from the football field when she posted two videos featuring images from the Nest camera at home.
“After a hard-fought NFC Championship game, Matthew Stafford still made sure to tuck his daughters in when he got home at 2:30 a.m.,” she wrote Monday via her Instagram story, with a video of her husband kissing their daughters Sawyer, 8, Chandler, 8, Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5.
Although it was difficult for Matthew to miss the football game that would have secured a spot on his team Super Bowl LXhis family quickly reminded him of what matters most.
“Sports and football in particular are difficult at times, but it also gives me the opportunity to teach my children and be something for them,” he shared. “I could sit there and say, ‘Man, I feel like I played well and we didn’t win and this happened and this happened,’ but it’s like, no. Have the guts to go put yourself out there.”

It was a moment in time that I’ll never forget just being able to talk to her at that time and bring her back from tears, but also to tell her and tell myself at the same time. It’s something special.”
While the Los Angeles Rams football season may be over, the Seattle Seahawks are heading to Santa Clara, California to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.
One dad Matthew can’t help but root for is his former Rams teammate and current Seahawks wide receiver. Cooper Coupe.
“Cooper is a great friend in life to me,” Matthew shared in his latest podcast interview. “I went to pick him up (after the game) and I told him good luck and I hope he wins another one because he deserves it. I’m happy for him. I’m happy for his kids, his wife and his family.”
Cooper and his wife, Anna Marie Cuppthey have three children who have previously been seen on the football field encouraging his father before game time.
Regardless of who wins or loses, Matthew believes that the friendships that come out of football can be the best trophies.
“Life is about relationships,” he explained. “Soccer has given me so many great opportunities to build these relationships with really special people.”
