“I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere,” he said Us Weekly on Friday January 23. “I was with Austin the night before it went public, and even though like many marriages we had normal challenges, I really believed we were working on our relationship.”
After being discovered recently hotelier Vikram Chatwalclarified King, “Any recent interactions publicly referred to were strictly professional business meetings and have no connection to this private matter.”
“My focus right now is my work and most of all my kids,” he continued. “This is deeply personal and should remain private, and I hope people stop making assumptions, especially those that unfairly and disproportionately scrutinize women simply for doing their jobs.”

It is not clear when the couple married. News of the Hart of Dixie of star commitment to Sosa it was first broken in July 2025.

The actress’ rep said people at the time that she was “grateful” for the well wishes on her engagement.
The rep added that King, 46, was “especially happy to share this moment with his children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family.”
“As always, her children remain her top priority, and she graciously requests privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude,” King’s rep said at the time.
In October, King spoke exclusively we about her engagement, saying she was “so grateful” to have found Sosa and been welcomed into his “extraordinary” family. She added that they met through mutual friends in December 2024 and she “knew he was going to be (her) boyfriend” the moment she saw him.
King was previously married to the director Kyle Newmanwith whom he shares two sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10. taylor swift she is the godmother of the former couple’s youngest child.

According to the documents, Newman was awarded sole custody because King had allegedly “failed to complete” a six-month drug and alcohol program.
King opened up about the custody agreement the following month during an appearance on the “Whine Down With Jana Kramer” podcast.
“My duty as a mother is to protect my children and that’s all I care about,” King said in April 2025.
“I didn’t know the world worked like that. I didn’t know legal systems worked like that,” he continued. “I thought that, you know, when you decide to love someone, then you love them. You build a family with them and you trust them. And sometimes that’s not always the case.”
“I never wanted my kids to think that some, any part of them was wrong,” King said. “I’m very grateful, and at the same time, the system is really unfair. And I think it’s very important to support the family structure and kindness.”
