Summer House‘s Kyle Cooke is clearing the air about how the debt from his Loverboy business may be affecting his split from his wife Amand.
During a street interview with the podcaster Adam GlynCooke, 43, was asked if she had any “fear” of Batula, 34, “getting some of (her) debt” in a potential divorce.
“I’ve seen a bunch of videos pop up talking about divorce and the financial implications,” Cooke told Glyn in a TikTok video posted on Thursday, January 22. “I don’t think many people really understand the intricacies of my business to begin with. Is there debt? Yes, I took out a small business loan.”
Cooke added that while he has “no idea” what the future holds for him and Batula, they “don’t really plan” to get to the point of a costly divorce battle.
Glyn also noted that Cooke and Batula are separated right now, but have yet to say they plan to divorce.
“I think I just hope that we both find happiness, whatever it is,” Cooke concluded.
Cooke and Batula they announced their separation via social media on Monday, January 19.
“After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to separate as a couple,” the couple shared in a joint statement. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support as we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

The statement continued: “It seems ironic to ask for privacy during this time as we have always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
Cooke’s comments on Thursday amid reports that he and Batula could face a messy divorce after the reality TV personality revealed in 2022 that he was $4 million in debt due to a loan for his Loverboy business, which he founded in 2018.
“I’m in a lawsuit. I’ve spent $200,000 in legal fees this month. I’m $4 million in debt on my business loan. It’s all on the line,” Cooke said during an episode of Summer House at that time. (The episode was filmed in 2021.)

Cooke exclusively said Us Weekly after the broadcast of the episode that he “he didn’t want to gloss over (his) legal problems.”
“Sometimes … my mug has been run over and I, I don’t think people appreciate (my openness),” he added.
Fans have also wondered about the implications of the couple not signing a prenuptial agreement before their September 2021 wedding. In a “Trading Secrets” podcast clip from June 2025 that recently resurfaced amid the split, Batula said that she regretted not having a prenuptial agreement with Cooke.
“I made a big mistake. I don’t know if it was the movies we watched growing up or the tabloids, but prenup had such a negative connotation,” she explained at the time. “It was related to the divorce. I always thought it was very messy. You see celebrities, prenup this, prenup that. It didn’t seem like a smart thing, so we didn’t sign one.”
Batula added that he now believed “everyone should sign a prenuptial agreement.”
“Protect your assets, so they protect theirs. You have no idea what’s going to happen. You think you’re in love and happy now, it could end up really messy, and then what, you’re screwed,” he continued. “Everyone should get a prenup. Hear it from the girl who didn’t.”
Cooke declined to comment when he and Batula parted ways during their interview Thursday. However, a source said we after the split was announced that the two “were having issues all summer and decided to separate in the fall.”
“They’re on completely different wavelengths,” the source said we. “Over time, it became impossible to ignore that they were no longer aligned.”
