Colin Egglesfield gives health update after third cancer diagnosis

Egglesfield said And! news he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2024 and underwent prostatectomy surgery shortly after receiving the news. He’s had a clean bill of health for almost a year now.

“It’ll be a year in February. Fortunately, they caught it early enough where I didn’t have to do any radiation or chemotherapy or anything and that’s one of the things I just wanted to avoid,” she said.

Egglesfield said his early diagnosis was a big difference from when he was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2006.

Then, she said, “I waited almost until it was too late and it had started to spread. So when they did the surgery and they tested the lymph nodes and that kind of thing, they determined that it had spread. So I had to have radiation treatment and I didn’t want to go through any of that anymore.”

“It’s a difficult decision to have a prostatectomy because a lot of men will choose to do the radiation pills,” Egglesfield added, explaining that he chose radiation therapy because he had it before and was told that having it again could cause secondary cancers.

Although she is now cancer free, Egglesfield said she is still recovering from her battle with cancer.

“It hasn’t been an easy recovery because there’s learning to go back to the bathroom and erectile stuff,” he said. Melrose Place said the actor. “But knowing that I don’t have to deal with this in the future and that I can potentially move on, that’s something I’m very grateful for.”
