according to unsealed court documents on Tuesday, Jan. 20, Baldoni, 41, messaged Lively about their collaboration on End With Us and opened up about the behind-the-scenes drama to others. In addition to Baldoni’s messages, Lively’s correspondence has also been made public. The actress made headlines for her communication with a close friend taylor swift.
The release of the messages comes between his and Lively’s ongoing legal battle. In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni accusing her co-star and director of sexual harassment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her.
Baldoni has vehemently denied the allegations and sued Lively for defamation. Baldoni’s lawsuit was dismissed by a judge last year. Lively’s case remains ongoing and is headed to trial, which is scheduled for May.

Justin Baldoni is asking for ‘prayers’ before meeting Blake Lively
Justin Baldoni posted a message in a group chat saying he and co-star Jamey Heath would be meeting with Blake Lively and producers for a “big meeting” following their security allegations.
“First time we’ve seen each other in person since his security allegations,” Baldoni wrote. “I would appreciate any prayers for protection and strength/calm.”
One person, whose name was redacted, replied: “Praying for strength and protection and angels around you” and Rainn Wilson he replied “sit down now for some prayers”.

Heath replied that he also spoke to Steve about how “difficult” it is to work with Lively and added: “he doesn’t understand the nuance.”

“Hey guys, I know it’s been a while since I texted this group but unfortunately Jamey and I are back in New Jersey trying to finish the movie and prayers are appreciated,” he wrote. “Just wanted to give you a little update. These first few days have been torturous and up there with the worst. But next thing I can tell you, I’m fine. Jamey is more than fine. We’re getting through it.”
Baldoni added that he was having a very difficult time emotionally but he was persevering.
“The amount I’ve grown since last time surprises even me. I cried yesterday because I felt the protection and the deep knowing that I’m not what I’m portrayed to be,” she continued. “I feel safe and clear. Jamey has been steadfast. And I think everything is going to be okay.”
Baldoni also claimed he received a “legal letter” citing “the insecurity” that he and the workplace were.
“In an effort to gain power over me personally and the studio, we received a legal letter stating how unsafe I and the job were for the actor(s), and that she will not return to work unless we meet 17 conditions and send her the unfinished director’s cut of (the) film,” Baldoni said. after watching the film, he will decide.”

“It’s hard to hear so much of what they believe about me is fake because they’re so convinced it’s real,” she wrote. “Looking for the learning nuggets of which there are many and somehow they just popped up today. Thanks to Jamey and my wife and we’re currently rolling. I love you all.”
Baldoni also claimed that he was told that working End With Us it was “the worst experience” of Lively’s life. She subsequently spoke to her therapist about the conversation for “an hour.”
“I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I know I will, and just knowing you’re there for me means the world to me because even with Jamey here and my wife and family I’ve never felt so alone,” he wrote. “Smiling doing my best to lead the crew. While speaking in a group chat with his PR team, Justin Baldoni revealed this End With Us author Colleen Hoover texted him asking for an article about the movie’s ending to be taken down.
“Colleen just texted us, first time we’ve heard from her,” Baldoni replied while attaching a screenshot of the message. “Can someone please send Jamey the actual context of what I said so she can respond to Colleen… I never said she changed her fate – I said I didn’t want to see it at the end of the movie as it was too complicated to explain how it was co-parenting and it would attract too many people and SHE agreed.”
Baldoni added that he felt he took “the lead” amid the drama and claimed Hoover “betrayed” and “ghosted” him. One of his PR managers advised him to take “the opportunity” to “open” a dialogue with the author.
“I’m sorry I don’t have the ability right now at this point to be the bigger person and do it,” Baldoni responded. “You have to remember that it was his betrayal that landed me in the hospital. It’s been devastating to me.”
Jamey Heath chimed in, adding that Baldoni was “full of emotion” and encouraged him to avoid adding to the fire. Baldoni then produced several drafts of his response to Hoover.
“Colleen, I’m sorry you’re hurting. I want you to know that (I) haven’t lied or talked bad about you. I’m not talking about my experience either. I’ve stuck to the same message of the movie that you know I was deeply concerned about from the beginning,” she wrote. “The headline is out of context that you will see in the interview. I talked about it several times and they don’t include everything I say either.”
Baldoni continued: “None of which has anything to do with changing his trajectory in the second book, which of course I asked you about several times to understand where the story was going.
