Chris Noth opened up about how his friendship with Sex and the city to cost Sarah Jessica Parker ended after being accused of sexual assault.
“We’re not friends,” Noth, 71, said of Parker, 60, in a teaser clip for the Monday, Jan. 26, episode of the “Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast, per people. “I think that’s pretty obvious.”
Noth explained that the disconnection occurred when Parker and his colleague Sex and the city to cost Cynthia Nixon i Kristin Davis issued a statement in support of the alleged victim. (Noth was accused of sexual assault in 2021 and has vehemently denied the allegations.)
“The statement that they made, that it was nothing more than brand management, really, I don’t know, it was sad, disappointing, surprising,” he continued. “Because you have to call me and hear my side of it. You’ve known me for many years and we’ve worked (together) for many years.”
In addition to the statement, Parker, Nixon, 59, and Davis, 60, publicly distanced themselves from Noth. Noth was scheduled to return Sex and the city revival, And so. However, he was fired amid the allegations and his character was killed off in the series premiere.
Speaking to host Kara Mayer Robinson, Noth called the move by Parker and his other co-stars “more Hollywood than Hollywood,” adding that he wished they had reached out to him to get their side of the story.
“But before you make that claim, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, call me so I can give you some real insight into this,” he said. “And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.”
Noth explained that there was “something gained” and “something lost” from the falls.
“What’s earned is good. You know where people are and you know who your real friends are and who aren’t. It’s important to know that,” she shared. “I just know that if I had been on the other foot, I wouldn’t have done it.”
Noth added that if Parker had been in a similar situation, he would have “absolutely” stood up to hear his “cost.”
“That hurt and it really affected everything,” she said, apparently referring to her abrupt exit from And Just Like That.
Us Weekly Parker has been contacted for comment.
Noth played Parker’s love interest, Mr. Big Sex and the city from 1998 to 2004. He reprized his role for the film adaptation of the beloved series and its sequel.

In the comments section, one user wrote, “You mean f*** sjp and her award, right? LOL,” referring to Parker recently receiving the Carol Burnett Award at the 2026 Golden Globes. Noth, meanwhile, responded, “Right.”
Noth’s candid statement made headlines afterward. He later addressed the message as a “mildly sarcastic response.”
“My mildly sarcastic response to an internet comment seems to have sparked a tempest in a teapot. Not news,” Noth wrote on Instagram in January. “It’s not worth all this discussion. It’s a waste of time in a world where there are more important things to worry about.”
