“Because she was like a sweet farm girl in (American Idol) — and I hope that’s who I still am — but it was almost like, “Maybe we don’t do this song,” he explained.

“Before He Cheats” first appeared on his debut album, Some Heartswhich was released in November 2005, and got a second release as a single the following year.
