USAID cuts back: “If aid stops in one day, no one can adapt,” says the non-governmental organization Solidarites International




A year after the US announced it was halting all international aid, a leading charity spoke to FRANCE 24 about how it is impossible to fill the void and that no one ever will. A little more than a month after the announcement, 83 percent of USAID was shut down, representing about 40 percent of total international aid. We spoke with Kevin Goldberg, who is the executive director of the non-governmental organization Solidarites International. He told us they were used to dealing with emergencies, but this was on a scale they had never seen before.
