
NATO chief Mark Rutte said on Wednesday that “thoughtful diplomacy” was needed to resolve tensions over Greenland, as President Donald Trump headed to Davos fueling US claims to the territory. Rutte tried to steer Trump’s interest in the Danish autonomous territory into a broader NATO discussion about strengthening security in the Arctic and dismissed the crisis as a potential collapse of NATO.
