Glowing Aisling Oscar will face as many as nine rivals in Newcastle on Tuesday at Win £250,000 with BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap over a mile.
Adrian Keightley’s five-year-old will be looking to make it a six furlong, with all five of his previous wins here. Two of those successes came over this course and distance, so he’s sure to be popular in the betting. Tim Easterby saddled the nine-year-old Little Tedwho has hit the post here the last two times and will look to go one better with Sean Kierran in the saddle.
Tasever was in consistent form at the end of last year – which included a third behind Aisling Oscar in December. That positive upturn in fortunes culminated in victory over this course and over the distance, but after disappointing in his first ride of the year 10 days ago, Patrick Morris will be hoping his six-year-old can pick up his form again.
Sea Legend, the chief and Joseph (beyond the top tier) are others to look out for in this field of ten.
3.13 Newcastle – Spartan Fighter follows course and hat-trick at distance
Nine goes into fasting for Midnite, Building the Future of Handicap Betting, where Spartan Fighter will bid to record another six-furlong success and take a hat-trick over the course and distance.
Antony Britten’s nine-year-old put a string of efforts behind him when justifying favoritism here on New Year’s Day and then followed that up with another success 10 days ago. Karan will be looking for his third straight win in his 94th career appearance.
Tears himself has been in consistent form since the blinkers went on four starts ago, producing three wins over course and distance. Richard Spencer’s four-year-old will have to defy a £5 penalty for his win last week, but don’t be surprised if he troubles the judge once more.
Philip Kirby Fircombe Hall and Brittany’s second runner Yahobby will be looking to go one better than their second place finish last time.
5.30 Southwell – Hierarchy and Hunky Dory clash again
Southwell’s Midnite’s new generation handicap betting app (over six furlongs) see Hierarchy and Hunky Dory loc horns again after their closing in Kempton in December. Hierarchy beat Hunky Dory by half a length that day and the winner that day is actually 3lbs better in weight due to running since.
Julie Camacho saddled up Hundred Capswhich has the shape of 212 since it underwent wind surgery during the summer. This guy moves up to six furlongs on the all-weather for the first time since 2024, with Dylan Hogan replacing Ryan Sexton.
Pope Cocktail will be looking for a second success over the course and distance, having beaten Stella Barkley in 2023. He comes here in fairly consistent form having finished in the top three in eight of his last 10 runs.
Ararat, Gunlock and Sergeant Pep are others to mention.
