Brooklyn Beckham has issued a scathing statement with multiple accusations against his famous parents, David Beckham i Victoria Beckham – including the claim that the couple tried to “bribe” their son to give up the rights to his name before he called the woman “son” Nicola Peltz Beckham.
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and tried to bribe me to take away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children,” Brooklyn, 26, said in a social media statement shared via Instagram Stories on Monday, January 19.
“They were adamant about me singing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would kick in,” she further alleged in the charge. “My withholding affected payday, and I’ve never been treated the same since. During the wedding planning, my mom even called me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both don’t have husbands. Our parents had their own tables just adjacent to ours.”
Us Weekly reps for both David and Victoria have been contacted for comment.
Although David and Victoria’s estranged son did not elaborate further, Brooklyn was likely referring to what is commonly known as “NIL” rights.or the “right of publicity”. These rights protect a person’s ability to control and profit from the commercial use of their name, likeness, likeness, and other personal characteristics.
These rights are often a necessity for those in the public eye, including athletes, celebrities and social media influencers; however, anyone has the right to assert their ability to publicly claim their identity if it is used without their consent.
According to Montana law firm Worden Thane PC, NIL rights can include a person’s name, nicknames, previous names, image, likeness, voice, and even their signature. Even gestures or phrases that are original to a person, the law firm adds, can fall under an individual’s NIL rights.

“I’m not in control,” he continued. “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
The chef added: “All my life, my parents have controlled the narratives in the press about our family. Performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a component of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths they will go to put countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of their own people, to preserve their own facade. It always comes out.”
The estranged Beckham also slammed his parents for allegedly trying to “ruin my relationship since before my wedding”, adding that their alleged attempts have not “stopped”.
Brooklyn claimed her mother refused to design the then-fiancé’s wedding dress at the “11th hour”, forcing Nicola to find an alternative dress before the couple’s nuptials. He also accused his mother from dancing “inappropriately” on him during what he says was supposed to be his and Nicola’s “romantic” wedding dance.
