conservationist Robert Irwin he’s not afraid to admit that the bright lights of Hollywood aren’t necessarily his thing.
“Being in Los Angeles for the last three months has been wonderful, but I’m not a city kid,” Irwin, 22, said during an interview with Western Australia published on Friday, January 16. “I live in the forest and grew up there, so it’s good to go back to where there’s a bit of green.”

While the idea of surviving weeks in a remote jungle shoulder-to-shoulder with other stars sounds like a nightmare to most, the location offered some alarm for Irwin.
“I actually couldn’t wait to get here,” Irwin, son of the late wildlife conservationist. Steve Irwinhe said to the dam.
Despite his aversion to big cities, Robert says he was grateful for the opportunity to appear and eventually win the popular reality dance competition, transforming into a true sex symbol in the process
“All of that wasn’t in my bingo car,” said the wildlife enthusiast. “Honestly, I didn’t expect the whirlwind that it’s been last year, it’s been really big.

He continued of his time Dancing with the stars“Dance was always a dream of mine and something I always wanted to do. I knew it would happen eventually, but I didn’t think it would happen this year.”
In September 2025, Robert opened exclusively to Us Weekly about what he thinks his late father would think of his time on the dance floor. (Steve died on September 4, 2006, aged 44 after an underwater accident with a stingray while filming. Robert was 2 at the time.)
“After doing this experience, I think I would be excited,” Robert said we while attending the show’s premiere on September 16, 2025. “I think he would love it in here. It’s like the ultimate adrenaline rush, and that’s what he loved more than anything else.”
Robert continued about his father in the ballroom after dancing the jive: “(My dad) showed what it’s like to live life 100 percent, to lead with a sense of real positivity and enthusiasm. And that’s what I want to do, and that’s what I want to bring to the ballroom. It’s such a privilege to be able to do it all there, honestly, thanks to being able to do it all. Witney and all thanks to the team that we have, I’m lucky to have succeeded”.
Now that Robert has the Mirrorball trophy tucked away at home and a busy schedule, fans are still curious about one thing: the conservationist’s dating life.
“On behalf of every woman under 30, are you single?” a radio jockey from Australia’s KISS FM asked Robert during an appearance on Monday 19 January.
“Oh, let’s go straight to the exclusive,” Robert replied, before confirming that “yeah, yeah,” he’s currently single. However, he is “open” to dating and “looking for love”.
“Oh, definitely. It’s one of those things that I’m at, like, at this point in my life where you just have to let it happen,” he continued. “Because I’m so here and there and everywhere and 100 miles an hour.”
