Portugal began voting on Sunday in the first round of a presidential election in which a far-right candidate could advance to the second round for the first time, but with the final result hard to call. Polls predict that Andre Ventura, the leader of the far-right Chega (“Enough”) party, could come out on top in the first round, but would lose the second round, regardless of which of the other candidates he faces there.
