Crystal Palace want Oliver Glasner to see out his contract until the end of the season despite his outing on Saturday.
After the defeat in SunderlandGlasner felt his players were “abandoned” with “no support” following the decision to sell Mark Gehey to Manchester City so close to the match.
“To sell our captain the day before the game – there is no understanding for this,” he added.
However, Glasner knows that it is virtually impossible for a club the size of Palace to retain international players when the big clubs are offering huge contracts.

The Austrian was understandably emotional after his side’s dreadful run continued at the Stadium of Light, but his job is to turn things around.
Glasner revealed on Friday that he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Glasner informed Palace in October of his intention to leave in the summer and the club would like to leave in a dignified manner at the end of the season.
He participated in the signings that the Palace made this month and knows the situation. Palace signed Brennan Johnson for a record fee and have to follow strict spending rules when buying and selling players.
Earlier on Sunday morning, Ski Sports News reported that Palace chairman Steve Parish was confused and angered by his manager’s comments after the defeat at Sunderland where Glassner directly criticized the club’s board, saying “we feel like we’ve been completely abandoned”.
