NBA alum Lamar Odom, arrested for allegedly driving under the influence


Lamar Odom has arrested in Las Vegas with multiple charges.

Odom, 43, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 17, for allegedly driving under the influence, speeding and making an improper lane change, according to an arrest record seen by Us Weekly.

TMZfirst to report the news, also claimed that Odom was allegedly driving 40 miles over the speed limit and struggled to maintain his lane position before his arrest.

The NBA alum has been granted bail, according to jail records, and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 17. Us Weekly A representative for Odom has been reached for comment.

Odom has been open about his struggles with alcoholism and addiction.

“I’m pretty sure I’m probably still dealing with (childhood trauma),” Odom previously said we in 2019 of what sparked his battle with addiction. “We take a 12-year-old boy and take his mother away, I mean, those are words that are still healing; if they ever heal, I’m lucky. I’m just here to bear witness that life is worth living.”

Odom began experimenting with drug use, including cocaine, in the midst of his short-lived marriage to Khloé Kardashian. He overdosed in a legal brothel in Las Vegas in 2015 and fell into a coma amid the then-couple’s split. Kardashian, 41, withdrew her divorce petition while assuming responsibility as Odom’s caregiver.

“I was home alone. Bored. I wanted to go out and have fun,” he said remembered to we in 2017. “Looking back, I might have had a drink to set the mood, but was I drunk or on drugs? Not at all. I remember being in bed. Two women were in bed and then I fell asleep. That’s it. When I woke up four days later, I was trying to get the tubes out of my mouth.”

According to Odom, he was surprised to find Kardashian at his bedside when he regained consciousness.

“It was definitely a moment of relief. I didn’t even know what had happened. I mean, I’m a strong, big guy who’s made it to the top doing what he loves, and now I can’t walk or talk. She was the first thing I saw,” he said at the time. “She said, ‘Hi, Mookah’ (which was) a name my mom used to call me. She said that to let me know she wasn’t dead. She was instrumental in me getting my memory back. She would bring me pictures of my mom and my grandmother. I kept thinking, ‘Am I paralyzed forever? Am I silenced forever?*** It scared me forever.

Kardashian filed for divorce again after Odom’s recovery, and the petition was finalized in 2016. Nearly a decade later, the now-exes reunited for the first time on a 2025 episode of The Kardashians.

“Lamar was and is definitely someone I felt was the love of my life,” Kardashian he said in a February 2025 episode. “I got married when I was 24, and even though he and I were married 30 days after the day we met, I loved him with all my heart and soul. I took my vows very seriously and was married for about seven years. But there were bigger things that didn’t work out in that marriage.”
