Movie magic is great until your pants come off before you, take this lesson Chris Prattwho shared a hilariously candid story about his brother Cully Prattwardrobe malfunction while filming his cameo mercy.
“He’s murdered,” Chris, 46, explained on the Thursday, Jan. 16, episode. Jimmy Kimmel Live!revealing that Cully’s character was shot in a scene from the upcoming sci-fi drama.
“So he wears a Mercy safety suit and they put the reefs in the pants. The reefs are these little explosive devices that draw blood if you get shot in a movie,” he said. electrical state the star explained, raving about her brother’s acting chops. “He does a great job — he gets damaged, he lays down, he has to be dead for about three minutes in that scene.”
Chris said things went wrong when Cully had to re-shoot the scene on much smaller backgrounds. Apparently, his brother already had the inclination for something to end, but he never imagined that it would happen in a literal sense.

“(Cully) does the scene and boom, boom, boom, runs back, does the stunt and falls into an elevator, and the elevator will be closing like that on his head,” Chris said, revealing that Cully’s character went into command for some unknown reason and ended up showing more skin than he expected. “As (Cully) goes down, (he) rips his pants from the top of his ass, like, above his pubic bone.”
Chris added: “It’s (getting hit by the lift doors) like, ‘Uhh, my shit’s out.’
Chris shared the wild story leading up to the film’s release next week. mercy is about a detective who is on trial for the murder of his wife, facing an AI judge, where he has only 90 minutes to prove his innocence or face the consequences.
In October 2025, Pratt opened up about his acting techniques while playing the detective, revealing that he asked to be strapped into a chair for the filming of his courtroom scenes during New York Comic Con.
“I asked them confine me there“, he told the panel next to the costar Kali Reis and director Timur Bekmambetov. “So I couldn’t, I didn’t have to pretend I was tied up.”
