Thorn Birds’ Rachel Ward shuts down trolls who criticize her looks

Rachel Ward shared a message for trolls who criticized her appearance at 68, telling naysayers that getting old is powerful, and she’s proof of that.

I ran my hands through my hair and so on, but anyway, just to say, don’t be afraid of getting old,” she said in the clip, enthusing that her sixties are a “wonderful time in life.”

“I’m more satisfied than ever and I don’t regret leaving my youth and beauty behind,” she continued. “I’m not young, but I’m a very happy camper.”

Ward, who looks after a 350-head beef farm with her husband Bryan Brown in Australia’s Nambucca Valley, he pointed out youth is fleetingand there are countless blessings that come with age, including wisdom about what is most important in life. “The later years are to be exalted and welcomed. Wait until you get there,” the actress shared with her followers on social media. “They have it so many other gifts to give that you have no idea what they are until you get there.”

He went on to thank fans who rushed to his defense. “Don’t worry about me. I admit we’re all a little worried about losing our youth and resorting to pretty drastic ways to hold on to it, but let it go,” Ward said.
