Demi Lovato he embraced his inner camp counselor for the Camp Rock 3 newcomers
“I wish I had gotten some advice, and I think it would have saved me a lot of trial and error, like figuring out my own kind of shit,” Lovato, 33, said on Thursday’s Jan. 15 episode of “Not Gonna Lie.” podcast. “I’m thankful for the path I’ve had without a mentor (and) without other people’s advice. I would love to be someone’s mentor and guide someone through the journey that I went on.”
She continued: “There’s no manual on how to be a pop star, and there are certain things I would tell (them).”
Lovato began her mentoring journey with the distribution of Camp Rock 3.
“I actually gave, like, a mini pep talk to the new cast Camp Rock when I first met them,” he told podcast host Kylie Kelce. “I met them as a group and I was like, ‘Hey guys,’ and I gave them some advice like, ‘Don’t be afraid to ask for time off, like, take care of yourself first. It’s really important that you take care of your mental health so you can do the other things you want to do, like act and perform.”
She continued: “‘If you don’t have your mental health or if you burn out, all of that can go away. It’s important to take care of yourself.'”
Lovato played Mitchie Torres on Disney Channel Camp Rock i Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam the years 2008 and 2010, respectively. News broke late last year that Lovato would executive producer of a new film in the franchise alongside former co-stars Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas i Kevin Jonas. (The Jonas Brothers will also reprise their roles in the new film, as they will Maria Canals-Barrerawho played Mitchie’s mom in the OG movies.)

Camp Rock 3 will star Lima Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts i Ava Jean as a new cohort of Camp Rock campers. It is not known if Lovato will reprise her role as Mitchie.
“I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see,” Lovato said on Thursday’s episode when asked about a possible cameo. “We’re making way for the next generation to shine their light as brightly as they did, and it’s so exciting to see a new generation following in our footsteps. It’s beautiful to see a new generation of actors and performers have their moment, and I can’t wait to see the final product.”
Lovato also holds a special place for her Disney roots in her heart.
“I looked Camp Rock a couple of years ago (to show my husband) Jordan (lutes because) he wasn’t a Disney kid growing up, so he didn’t see any of that,” the “Trust” singer recalled. “I had to educate him. We have yet to look Camp Rock 2and I haven’t shown him (my other film) Princess Protection Program.”
Regarding the first Camp Rock movieLovato noted that Lutes, 34, enjoyed watching the DCOM.
“She thought it was cute,” Lovato recalled. “It’s like, ‘This is where you started. This is amazing.'”
Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney Channel and Disney+ in summer 2026.
