Teyana Taylor is sharing his reaction Julia Roberts telling him to “eat a sandwich” al Golden Globes 2026.
The One battle after another The 35-year-old star broke down in tears when she met one of her icons on the red carpet at the awards ceremony on Sunday (January 11). clip which has since gone viral, Roberts, 58, can be heard telling Taylor she’s “little” and joking, “You should eat a sandwich,” as they hugged.
During a Wednesday, January 14, appearance The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonTaylor said he took Roberts’ comments as a compliment.
“I’ve seen people trying to get into her about it,” the actress said he said. “I said, ‘Hang on.’ He told me I needed a sandwich because he couldn’t find my waist. She said, “Girl, you need a sandwich.” It was so beautiful.”
Taylor said more about meeting Roberts on the red carpet, adding, “It was so amazing. I just remember him parting the sea for me. It happened like Moses.”
“It was floating. It was so scary how perfectly it was floating,” Taylor continued. “I just dived into his arms. It was the most beautiful moment and I started to cry.”
Taylor, who won best supporting actress in a motion picture at Sunday’s Globes, said earlier Entertainment tonight how much her meeting with Roberts meant to her.
“I was going through too much tonight. She parted the sea for me,” the actress said. “She told everybody to get out of the way. Oh my God, it was scary. It looked so magical that when she came up to me, (I said) ‘Don’t take another step, don’t take another step. It’s making me tear up.'”
She added: “I couldn’t believe I knew her. She’s literally one of my heroes and what she poured into me literally made me cry… She poured so much life into me. She poured so much life into me and I needed it. Oh my God, it was amazing.”
During her Best Supporting Actress acceptance speech on Sunday, Taylor told the audience, “My gratitude is endless. I love you, we love you, and thank you so much for making room for me and our entire cast.”
On Tuesday, January 13, Us Weekly caught up with Taylor at the premiere of his new film in New York, The Ripwhere he touched on why he considered it important to talk about gratitude.
“I think it’s very important, because I think about everything and through blessings, those are things we pray for,” Taylor explained. “When you get it, you should always be grateful and full of gratitude. That’s how I feel about myself.”

During his appearance in The Show Tonightw, Taylor also clarified if she One battle after another to cost Leonardo DiCaprio he was addressing her in his now-viral moment, presumably KPop Demon Huntersat the Globes
The actress said she had a conversation with DiCaprio about the hit Netflix movie, but she wasn’t the one caught on camera.
“So apparently I had two KPop Demon Hunters conversations that night, then KPop Demon Hunters he was in his mouth all night!” she joked. “I’m like, ‘Who else do you date like that?’ Because that’s literally how we kiki (making hand gestures). So I had a little friendly jealousy. I said, ‘Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?'”
