The Paramount+ series, which premiered in 2024, follows the world of the oilfields of West Texas. Landman characteristics Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy, a corporate repairman who works for an oil titan named Monty (Jon Hamm). As the first season ended, Monty was killed, setting himself up Demi MooreCami is the new protagonist.
“You drop these little pieces throughout the season,” the executive producer said Christian Wallace he said TV Insider in January 2025 while pondering the big plot twist. “There’s Monty checking his heart rate on his watch or his wife Cami telling him no more coffee and just little things that have been dropped all this time to let you know something’s going on so that when it finally does, it’s not completely out of the blue.”
He continued, “But you also don’t want to be too heavy-handed about it and just explicitly telegraph it to viewers. So it’s kind of a matter of trying to get that balance of letting people know there’s a problem without it being the only thing they can think about.”
The Season 2 finale, which airs on Sunday, January 18, is titled “Tragedy and Flies.” which could indicate a death. Sam ElliottTL’s character might be the most likely choice, as most of his screen time has consisted of him complaining about various medical ailments, but he’s not the only one that could be on the table.

Cami threw Tommy a curveball when she fired him from M-Tex Oil right before the finale. Thornton has previously said he signed on for four or five seasons of Landman, but it remains to be seen how Sheridan’s plans pan out.

Paramount+Following in the footsteps of her late husband, maybe Moore’s Cami could be the next member of the Miller family to die while using M-Tex Oil. Cami has run the operation with an iron fist so far, so unless Moore wants to move on from the show, Cami could stay.
Danny ‘Gallino’ Morrell

Andy GarciaThe character was introduced as the big bad at the end of season 1 and has been hovering over Tommy throughout season 2, but how long can this storyline last? Gallino could be taken off the board, giving Tommy and Cami new problems to deal with, or he could get a chance to dominate Cami with M-Tex Oil, which would cement his future on the show for at least one more season.

Emerson Miller/Paramount+The The penultimate episode of season 2 is over with Cooper (Jacob Lofland) beating the boy who violently raped his fiancee, Ariana (Paulina Chavez). Some viewers were worried that Cooper will spend time in jail after the fight, so there is a possibility that Cooper will face another aggressive beating from which he will not come back.

Throughout the season, viewers have seen the on-the-ground effects of working for an oil company. killing dale (James Jordan) in the field, after saying he had no plans to retire, might just be the plot twist Sheridan is known for.
