“I’ve seen bits of it,” Donald, 79, told reporters about his wife’s upcoming Amazon MGM Studios documentary titled melania aboard Air Force One on Sunday, January 12. “It’s amazing.”

The president added that he is not surprised that the film has gained significant attention ahead of its release in theaters on Friday, January 30.

“I think it’s going to be a big… you know, she did a book and the book was a huge bestseller,” he continued. “And this is a movie and it seems to capture a lot of people’s attention.”

variety reported in October 2025 that Amazon reportedly paid $40 million for the rights to the document, directed by Brett Ratner. The project is Ratner’s first film since walking away from Hollywood after being accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. (Ratner has repeatedly denied the allegations).

Last week, Fox News reported it melania would be released at the newly renamed Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington DC on Thursday, January 29, with the President and First Lady in attendance. There are also premiere events scheduled in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Orange County, California.

The decision to premiere in DC came shortly after naming the venue that honored the president John F. Kennedy was changed to include Donald’s full name.

Various members of the Kennedy family criticized the name change.

“It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president would attempt to change the name of this great monument dedicated to President Kennedy,” JFK’s niece said.
