Not all TV shows you have found the correct title on the first try, with some being renamed after they were already released.
CBS’ NCIS is currently the the network’s longest-running television franchise. It premiered in 2003 as a two-part tailgate pilot following the success of JAG. me aired on NBC from 1995 to 1996 before moving to CBS and remaining on the network until 2005. From there, the show expanded to include spin-offs NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawaii, NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Origins i NCIS: Tony and Ziva.
NCIS, however, was originally called the Navy’s NCIS, also known as the NAVAL Criminal Investigative Service. Finally it was decided that the Navy was repetitive and so it was dropped from the title.
Another CBS show that saw a title change was Luke Grimes‘ Yellowstone spin-off It was originally called Kayce Dutton’s centric series Y: Marshals. Ahead of its March 2026 premiere, CBS confirmed that it will now be known as righteous marshals.

‘Scrubs’

The medical series, which originally aired between 2001 and 2010, followed the lives of employees at the fictional university hospital Hospital del Sagrad Cor. The successful series starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins i John C. McGinley before being brought back for a ninth season titled Med School.
The last season of the show moved the setting to a medical school to introduce new characters and Kerry Bishé became the show’s new narrator after Braff, but the concept only lasted one season.
‘Roseanne’
