The 33-year-old actor debuted new blonde locks at the star-studded event, giving a first look at his transformation as he hit the red carpet wearing a Louis Vuitton suit with black pants and a white blazer at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 11.
Keery is best known for his role as Steve “The Hair” Harrington, but he ditched his brown mane in time for the ceremony, and fans rushed to X faster than a opening of the portal to Hawkins. In addition to its lighter shade, it also showed off a modern cut and style.
“Joe Keery is actually the dreamiest man alive,” one social media user wrote.
“Hi my name is Joe Keery I’m tall and handsome with awesome ROS hair and 7 million followers and I’m on the biggest show on netflix and I’m currently hosting the golden globes with Charli xcx” another posted. “That f*cking haircut and that color…oh Joe Keery, you knew we’d all die,” a third person added of his freshly trimmed new look.
A fourth social media user shared a gif of The Voiceshowing a red button being closed in approval, she captioned it: “Me with the like button every time I see blonde Joe Keery on my tl.”

The show notably hit the top spot on Netflix with the release of new episodes ending in 2025. Four episodes were released on November 26, three episodes in a row on Christmas and the final episode aired on New Year’s Eve.
Keery noted that it was a group effort when it came to the series. “Someone said there were 8,000 people who worked on this program,” he said Jimmy Fallon activated The show tonight in November 2025. “You associate the actors with the show and with the characters, obviously, but it’s really just a testament to the massive group of people who put their lives into this thing.”
The actor reflected on his experience filming strange thingsrevealing that he was satisfied with his character arc after five seasons.
“What I loved about the character and what they gave me is that he has a change of heart and realizes the error of his ways,” Keery explained. “And I think there’s a lot of opportunity right now for that, for people to choose to do the right thing.”
“The show is about a group of outcasts who come together and, you can be from all walks of life. But I love that the character makes that choice,” he continued, noting that it will be a role that will stay with him for the rest of his life. “It was a real pleasure to play for 10 years.”
