President Nega explained that he liked foreign military aids to help deal with drug cartels – but it was the first time he brought the US, Brazil and Europe.
Security – and how he deals with it – a long issue for voters ahead A run-off vote of Ecuador Presidential Elections on 13 April.
The Nobea describes his 16 months in the office by a difficult cracking gang and militarization of streets and prisons – yet he also burned from critics to see his tactics as well.
During his term, murder murder decreases at about 16% from 2023 to 2024 but it remains higher than the previous years, and in January 2025 killed a record 781 a month.

In an interview with BBC News, the incumbent president said: “There should be many soldiers to fight this war.”
“Seventy percent of the world’s cocaine comes through Ecuador. We need help with international forces.”

Nobea told the BBC that he wanted his US counterparts to do Ecuadorean Gangs again: “I will be happy if he considers the Goskos in Los Los
Nobea has already ordered foreign ministry to seek cooperation with police and army in Ecuador in the constitution of foreign military bases in Ecuador.
As well as constitutional changes, it will require other countries ready to offer it. The deployment of armies abroad can be dangerous and expensive but there are some mainly for it. The US has a military base for anti-narcotic operations in Ecuador until 2009, before being banned by former President Correa.
President neboa’s challenge can be convincing numbers such as Donald Trump in the US, or European leaders where many drugs have been sent to cartels and drugs.

Mr Prince built private military water in the military providing security services to the US government but also entered into controversy. He sells the company in 2010.

Want President Neboa wants the prince to bring mercenaries to the country?
“No mercenaries need,” he said. “We’re talking about the armies. US, European, Special Forces. It can be a great help for us.”
While some of the steps are supported, some Ecuadorans have quoted Mr Prince’s past record and fears the country’s abuses.
When asked about some of Erik Prince’s main controversy, Mr Noboa said the laws of Ecuador should be honored and war held legally.
However, he added, the cartels “breached each person’s right is possible in the last five years”.
“They sold people. They rape thousands of women. They set up human organs. They sell illegally gold.”

In the past year, his iron-fist approach was taken under fire after Four boys were arrested by soldiers in an alleged thief And later found broken and burned.
Nobea mean that prison soldiers waited for an investigation but that he would “fight until the end” to convict responsibly.
He maintained armed forces proportion to face crime and found an unbalanced between his 35,000 strong military and 40,000 armed gang members.

At the time of a campaign rally, his left wing of Luisa González said: “The promises of the campaign held in a year and a half. He did not!
Nobea said it would normally see the increase in violence before the election in his country, but it was repeated that the Ecuador would not contradict this problem without a transnational security policy. “
While Albanian, Mexican and Colombian cartels include, no joint security policy in countries affected by drug violence, he said.
The Ecuador needs help, he argues, because its economy is very small in general Europe or the US where most drugs have been sent.
He added drug trafficking and illegal mining made $ 30bn (£ 23bn) – about 27% of GDP – each year in Ecuador.
He encourages countries where cocaine consumption is high, like the UK, to make more to solve this dispute: “The product they form has chain of violence and suffering.”
RabauseViolence and post-pandemic unemployment operates many ecuadoreans to flee to the north.
This is now one of the leading nationalities crossing the risky darien gap jungle from south of North America.
President neboa ready to return to Ecuadorean migrants from the US, but not other nationalities, and said that the country gives the technical training and a minimum wage in three months.
For him, the solution heals “opportunities”.
“We must improve, as export economy, Ecuador work for these people.”
While he said he was “100%” related to people who flee violence, he blamed a previous “lack of strong security policy”.
His message to ecuadoreans? “Stay – and you’ll see positive results. We have reduced inflation. The firms are renting. The economy recovers.”
Daniel Neboa will face Luisa González in the run-off vote next month.
He only received 0.5% more votes than him in the first roundSuggesting second round can be very close and polarizing.
With security is the highest issue for voters, his success – or not – may depend on whether ecuadoreons think that progresses well.
